Bruno Putzeys
Electrical Engineer. Has been active since 1995 designing class D power amplifiers for high-end and consumer audio applications, digital and analogue deltasigma and PWM modulators, AD/DA converters and discrete solid-state analogue audio circuits. Has further experience with vacuum tube electronics and loudspeaker design. Now working for Hypex, he was formerly employed at Philips where he invented, among others, the "UcD" power amplifier circuit.

 

Peter van Willenswaard
Electrical Engineer. Owner of company Audiomagic. Specialized in upgrades for digital audio equipment and upgrades for and repair of tube audio equipment. Design and construction of analog and digital equipment for consumer and professional clients. Former technical editor of Dutch pro audio magazine Pro-Audio&Visie (1989-1993). Long career as technical audio journalist (since 1982).

Guido Tent
Electrical Engineer. Runs the Tent Labs company. Develops,
manufactures and supplies low jitter clock upgrades for digital
products like CD/DVD players, ADCs and DACs. Consultant in the area of EMC, RF electronics and signal integrity. Career in analog electronics, RF and EMC (silicon and system design). Formerly employed at Philips Optical Storage where he was involved in the design of DVD-R pick-up units.

 

Eelco Grimm
Sound Engineer. Owner of the Fairytapes company for recording and acoustic consultancy. Former editor in chief of the leading Dutch professional audio magazine Pro-Audio&Visie (1992-2000). Writer of the book (with test cd's) 'Checkpoint Audio'. Teacher and researcher at the Utrecht School of the Arts, Media and Technology. Co-inventor of the 'Omnisurround' solution for realistic surround acoustic reproduction.

Bart van der Laan
Electrical and Software Engineer. Started taking apart everything that embodied any kind of electronics at the age of 5. He has the nasty habit of enjoying almost any kind of technology (analogue, digital, software) and thus can be seen as a multi-talent on the hunt for a specialism. Continued working at Grimm Audio and Guido Tent's private company TentLabs after completing an internship period.

 


Sylvia van Vegchel
Assembly and Administration Assistant. After working in the travel industry for many years, Sylvia switched to Philips Industrial Electronics, assisting the press-relations department. After several years in that position she decided to stay home managing her household and taking care of her three children. Now that her kids are finding their own way to school she is enjoying her part-time job at Grimm Audio.

Wouter Snel
Sound Engineer and Music Producer. Graduated in Master of Arts and Technology and Master of Music at the Utrecht School of the Arts, Media and Technology. Works as sound designer at Studio de Keuken. Has been an independent music producer for over a decade. Co-owner of BL-Audio. He is a member of the Dutch Broadcast Loudness Committee. Based upon his MA thesis on the practical implementation of loudness control in broadcasting he designed LM-BA1, a research tool of the EBU p/loud committee. Currently developing LevelOne at Grimm Audio.

 

Kees-Jan Goorissen
Hardware Engineer. Laser cutting and engraving whizzard. After 20 years of employment he started his own company LC Consultancy. Besides laser engineering and consultancy, he also specializes in industrial automation and product development. Kees-Jan is responsible for the industrial design implementation of most Grimm Audio products.

 

Herbert Rutgers
Electrical and Software Engineer. Retired from Philips Research Laboratory in 1998. Explores audio as a hobby from the fifties. Has developed many loudspeaker systems (including ESL) and microphones. Since 1975 designing solid-state short wave radio equipment for radio ham applications. Special interest in VCO's with low phase noise. Herbert is co-designer of the CC1 oscillator.

 

Peter van Vegchel
Electrical Engineer. Employed as Hardware Design Engineer at TMC Electronics, currently stationed at the ASML Imaging Electronics department. Longtime interest in (DIY) stereo equipment, building speakers and modifying/repairing amplifiers and other stuff. Tries to merge his technical knowledge and experience with the desire to create visually pleasing, optimal functioning board layouts. Peter was responsible for the PCB design of the CC1 and some other Grimm Audio products.

 


Jorn Lemon
Software Engineer. Owner of Twisted Lemon and co-owner at BL-Audio. Formerly employed at Audio Ease, Universidad Pompeu Fabra and the Utrecht School of the Arts. Develops Windows and OS-X software, specialised in the digital signal processing domain. Creator of the SideKick VST effect, allowing side-chaining compression within the VST 2.4 model. Currently developing LevelOne at Grimm Audio.

 

Richard Krol
Hardware Engineer. Founded Hexateq in 2005 after having worked as a finance (E&Y) and IT professional (Getronics). Specialized in the design and manufacturing of audio equipment, stands and parts for consumers as well as OEM partners. Richard was responsible for the design and manufacturing of the various aluminium extrusions and parts used in the Grimm LS1 loudspeaker.

 

Jos van Eijndhoven
Electrical and Software Engineer. Worked at Eindhoven University for several years as researcher and teacher, and moved over to Philips Research in 1998. Developed novel design methods and on-chip architecture of large digital ICs. Left Philips in 2007 to launch Vector Fabrics, a new company in the digital design technology domain. Faces the analogue challenge as hobby in DIY audio. Jos designed the software part of the CC1 VCXO.
