Our SQM cable has received Hong Kong magazine HiFi Review “Best Buy of the year 2020” award! It is the only winner in the “Interconnect Cable” category. Journalist Archimedes Chan knew our speaker and clock products from earlier tests but had not checked our cables before. He became very enthusiastic.
“The SQM signal cable shows its blood ties with the Grimm Audio speakers, being very neutral. It does not change the overtones and timbre, but just transfers what is recorded. If a violin is recorded in a church, you will hear clear reflections, sweet overtones, and an overall sense of elegancy. And that’s how it should be. SQM offers true neutrality, without adding or removing anything. The sound energy feels in tact, you can hear that the transmission loss is minimal. The sound is very consistent throughout the full frequency spectrum. No frequency band stands out with particular excellence but in stead all of them get high scores. In my opinion, the performance of SQM has exceeded the standard of studio and hifi cables.
This kind of wire has a great advantage, which is that it reduces the amount of sources of sound coloration in your system. That means you have less items to bother with when tuning the sound. If you like to change parts of the system to adjust to your evolved taste, you can limit yourself to components with an obvious personality and color, and leave SQM in place.”
