In their December 2024 issue, the joined Stereophile Magazine reviewer group has voted for the “Best Product of 2024 Awards” in seven categories. In two voting rounds they came to a well balanced verdict and the MU2 streamer DAC was awarded the “Digital Source Component 2024 Award”! We are extremely proud of this recognition.
From the jury report: “Packaged in the same chassis as Grimm’s MU1 file server, which was a Joint Digital Product of 2021, the MU2 adds a DAC and an analog “preamp” with balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs, as well as a headphone output and a volume control. The MU2 can also be used as a Roon Core/server. Kalman Rubinson auditioned almost every combination of inputs and outputs and concluded that the Grimm MU2 “is a bang-up success. It combines cutting-edge digital processing and digital-to-analog conversion with a Roon Core and a remarkably transparent volume control and input/output selector. One would not think this possible, given the vast disparity of cost between them and the TOTL competitors, but on every metric of music reproduction – technical/spatial, natural musicality, immersiveness – the SQMs were consistently on top. Incredible!”
