Editor in chief Ernst Neve of the renown Dutch printed magazine Hifi Video Test did a review of the PA1. He was really impressed and wrote quite an involved and personal text, a joy to read. Herewith a translated fragment:
“The Giya G2 Cu was driven with an ease that suggested the PA1s barely had to exert themselves. That ease, however, should not be confused with a friendly or rounded presentation. On the contrary, there was a remarkable amount of authority in the reproduction. The speakers were in a firm grip by the amp, without the music sounding tight or forced as a result. Perhaps the background was even more impressive. It was not black, but pitch black. This created an enormous sense of calmness in which small musical events materialized as if by magic. Not because details were artificially magnified, but because there seemed to be nothing standing in the way between the music and the listener.
(…)
Perhaps that is ultimately the greatest compliment I can give the PA1. You see two relatively compact monoblocks, you read a white paper full of ingenious technology, but once the music starts playing, all of that fades into the background. Exactly where it belongs.”
