Stereophile: LS1c is “Thrilling!”

The world famous audiophile magazine Stereophile did a review of our new LS1c. Both Rogier van Bakel, who did the subjective test, and John Atkinson, who did the measurements, were blown away. In seven pages they sing the praise of our new flagship loudspeaker system. Our full team worked on the LS1c release, in which all LS1 components except the cabinet and woofer were rebuilt from the ground up. We all could not have been made more happy than with this Stereophile review, so we are extremely grateful for this recognition.

We encourage everyone to read the full review online here. But to already give you an impression we copy some lines below. Rogier van Bakel writes:

“The LS1c’s excelled in coherence. If I owned these speakers – this system – I’d feel liberated from thoughts about what the weak link is. I didn’t find one.

(…)

The LS1c didn’t put me in that neurotic state where I need to hear and appreciate every detail. The whole painting is there, each brushstroke exposed if you care to look. But the speakers invite you to stand back and take in the whole canvas. I dug it, immensely.

(…)

If I didn’t often have to swap amplifiers, preamps, source components, and cables for a living, I’d hold on to these exceptional monitors and enjoy the hell out of them for the rest of my days. They’re that good.”

Perhaps the most honorable phrase of the review were the closing words of John Atkinson, who has measured audio systems for Stereophile since 1986:

“Overall, the Grimm LS1 offers superb performance in both time and frequency domains. It may be complicated, but it is the best-measuring loudspeaker I have encountered!”

“There is not a genre that the Grimms coudn’t do justice to with their panache and lack of coloration.” – Rogier van Bakel, Stereophile
